RURAL FAÇADE

Competition won in 2012. Rural Facade is an application for buildings, designed to equip them with greenery and cavities for birds nested. This is a box shaped with metal sheets and covers Syntrewood (a recycled plastic and 100% recyclable) that hangs on the wall in a modular way. Recently, with the demand of citizens, municipalities have sought to hire orchards deformations of cities. Also the peroles to make allotments on the terraces and balconies have sold too well. At the same time, in the field of biology, studying urban ecosystems with high interest. In the daily news often appear purely urban animal species in danger of extinction (see selection of newspaper headlines), the decline of bird populations or very common use of raptors to control pests rats and pigeons. These news attributed to the metropolis daily affect rural areas, especially the suburbs, this extensive area midfield mid city that today is representative of the urban conurbation. Rural Facade generic level can provide a wealth of urban ecosystems and privately growing vegetables for daily consumption and close observation of animal life forever away. Cerdà in 1865 wrote in his Tratado General Urbanización expression “rurizad the urban, the rural urbanizad.” Rural Facade we wanted to delve into this chimera, ranking, but in the current architectural paradigm that surrounds us: the abundance of edification. Therefore Rural Facade is not intended to form a front, but to enrich existing ones.
